Paleface and Mo

Paleface is a prolific American songwriter and recording artist currently performing as a dynamic acoustic-electric duo with his Puerto Rican drummer and partner, Mo.

Paleface was mentored by underground music icon Daniel Johnston and discovered at a New York City open mic by legendary music manager Danny Fields(The Stooges, The Ramones, MC5), who managed him for eight years. He has released over a dozen albums on Polygram and Sire Records, as well as influential indie labels Ramseur and Shimmy Disc, and most recently as a self-produced independent artist. His work has influenced a wide range of musicians, including multi-Grammy Award recipient Beck and The Avett Brothers, with whom he has collaborated and appeared on three albums — most notably as the “fourth thief” on Four Thieves Gone.

The duo tied the knot in the spring and relocated to Martha’s Vineyard to care for Paleface’s mother, a local visual artist living with advanced Parkinson’s disease. Now based on the Island, Paleface is currently recording a new album slated for release later this year. while also preparing to support longtime friends The Moldy Peaches at Carnegie Hall in New York City on June 26, 2026.

In addition to music, Paleface is an accomplished visual artist. His bright, bold, music-inspired paintings are collected by fans worldwide and via his website:
